CORE DRILLING WALL SAWING FLAT SAWING DEMOLITION

BURLINGAME SIDEWALKS

CLIENT: CITY OF BURLINGAME

CONTRACTOR: JJR CONSTRUCTION

SCOPE OF WORK:

The City of Burlingame and the merchants on the south side of Broadway embarked on a $1.4 million streetscape beautification project in the 1100, 1200, 1300 and 1400 blocks of Broadway.

Cutting designs into new concrete on the sidewalks cannot be done by hand - it takes an experienced cutter using a diamond blade, so they don’t shatter the edges and ruin the decorative effect.

Harris Designs designed the project and the landscape architect for the City of Burlingame is Jane Gomery.

Client Comment: We chose Nichols to do this work because decorative streetscape ‘green concrete’ cutting is a tricky process - one mistake can ruin the whole slab. Concrete that is not quite set needs a precision cut.
