Stanford University

Building 160 is one of the original ornate sandstone buildings that make up the Quad at Stanford University. Built in 1898 as the Stanford Library, it is being redeveloped as the Wallenberg Learning Center – a $15 million project.

The Bay Bridge

New anchorage girders are being put in place to strengthen the existing bridge structure. We worked deep in the structure of the bridge coring our holes so that the contractors can key in the new steel girders to the current structure.

Stanford University School of Education

We were contracted to core drill and install rebar as part of a seismic retrofit on the four story School of Education building at Stanford University.

Russian Hill

The owner of this Russian Hill penthouse had been looking for a contractor who was willing to undertake the removal of a concrete parapet for ten years. The parapet was blocking their view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

For the past 20 years, Bluewater Environmental Services’ success has been rooted in our ability to deliver professional, prompt and reliable work in the abatement and demolition industry. We seek business associates that share in the same goals and values. Our long term relationship with Nichols Concrete Cutting has been a clear example of such a partnership. Not only have they demonstrated top notch quality on every job, they are easy to work with, attack each project with trained and experienced staff and most importantly stay within the scope and costs of the project. Plain and simple, they get the job done.

Nichols Concrete Cutting

For over 35 years Nichols Concrete Cutting has been providing specialized concrete cutting services to contractors in the San Francisco Bay area. Whether you need a single hole drilled, window openings cut or you have a multi-faceted project requiring specialized core drilling, cutting, sawing and demolition – we can take care of it all.

Services

Core drilling is the core of our business. Nichols has cored the columns at Stanford in the main quad, most of the Bay Bridges and local landmark buildings for seismic strengthening. Phil Nichols worked in the machine shop industry before switching to the new technology called metal merging that impregnated diamonds evenly throughout a metal power saw during the casting of segments.

About NCC

Nichols Concrete Cutting has its roots in the original company started by Phil Nichols in 1975. Phil started out as a subcontractor operating as Nichols Diamond Tool and soon obtained his contractors license (License # 397406) Phil has the advantage of having been trained as a toolmaker, so he has a complete understanding of the cutting and coring process, as well as the equipment needs for difficult projects.
